Effective date: 4 September 2026
1. Purpose of remote access
Remote access allows a Remote PC Care technician to view and, with your permission, control your computer or supported device to diagnose and help resolve the problem you have reported.
2. How the connection begins
You start the RemotePC support program and provide the temporary support code shown on your screen. You must approve the connection before the technician can access your device. Only provide this code while speaking directly with a Remote PC Care technician.
3. You remain in control
- You can see the technician’s activity on your screen.
- You can ask questions or tell the technician to stop at any time.
- You can end the remote session at any time.
- Remote PC Care is not permanently connected to your device after the session ends.
4. What you authorise
By providing consent, you authorise the technician to take reasonable steps during that support session to investigate and address the issue you described. The technician will ask before taking actions that may significantly change settings, remove software or files, purchase products, or affect an account.
5. Privacy and information visible on screen
During remote support, information displayed on your screen may be visible to the technician. Close unrelated personal documents, messages and accounts before the session where practical. Remote PC Care will only access information reasonably required to provide the requested support.
6. Backups and account access
You should maintain a current backup of important files. If account access is required, you may be asked to enter your own password. Do not send passwords through the support request form.
7. Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw your consent before or during the session by telling the technician or ending the remote connection. Withdrawing consent may prevent Remote PC Care from completing the requested support.
8. Your consumer rights
This consent does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
